Stacey Solomon – X Factor Live Show 1
Stacey Solomon appeared live on the X Factor for the first time last night, with a completely new look. I hardy recognized her after her makeover with that fringe. Very sixties!
Stacey is obviously a very sweet girl. Even from just watching her on the telly, you can see that people warm to her immediately because she doesn't have any airs and graces, and (despite the makeover), what you see is what you get.
On last night's show, Stacey Solomon sang a fairly stripped back version of Coldplay's “The Scientist”. Interesting choice of song and not one that I would have expected. Her voice was a little shaky at the start, probably due to nerves, but got stronger as she went on.
All four X Factor judges gave Stacey's performance the stamp of approval and (fortunately for Stacey) none of them mentioned the shakiness.
Louis Walsh told Stacey that everywhere he goes, people ask him about her, so she's obviously made a connection with the public. Cheryl Cole called her a genuinely lovely girl and Simon Cowell (not for the first time) told her that she doesn't know how good she is and that the song choice was genius.
So we've heard Stacey Solomon sing a few ballads and slower numbers now. If she's as good as we all think she is, then I'm looking for her to kick things up a gear and sing a couple of more up-beat numbers as the X Factor finals progress.

Can Stacey Solomon Win the X Factor?
Can Stacey Solomon win the X Factor? It's certainly possible.

Stacey Solomon, a 19 year-old student from Dagenham in Essex who also works part-time in a pub, has made it through to the final twelve contestants and is now in with a good chance of going all the way.
Stacey, who is a single mum with a one-year old son called Zach, has auditioned for the X Factor before, although she's never made it past the first stage. So now she's got this far into the competition, will this year finally be her year to win it?

It could very well be if her first audition is anything to go by. When she sang Louis Armstrong's "It's a Wonderful World", she confounded the judges expectations. Each one of the judges obviously had pre-conceived ideas about Stacey, probably because of her outwardly nervous, dippy manner and her Estuary accent. But those prejudices were blown away when she started to sing. Was that a tear we saw in Danii's eye and was Louis' bottom lip trembling a little there?
One of the great things about Stacey is that she comes across as being very down-to-earth, humble and completely unaware of her massive talent. This in itself is very refreshing. She's just a normal Essex Girl - when she's not dressed up for performing on the X Factor, she likes to wear her favourite pink track suit and Pink Ugg Boots.
Her dream is to win the X Factor so that she can support her family and provide for her son Zach. And in her own words, if it doesn't work out, "there's always Asda!"
Can Stacey Solomon win the X Factor? Maybe!
